How We Work
Pupils can go to the Here2Help room in their school to express themselves by being creative, playing or talking.
Active Learners Education works in schools to help children and young people discover their emotions and feel great about themselves.
We at Active Learners Education are passionate about creating a philosophy of positive wellbeing and mental health, we are dedicated to working together with pupils, teachers and senior leaders to help build healthy, calm and happy schools.
Why is Active Learners Useful?
Occasionally children and young people can often feel predominantly sad, confused, scared or angry.
Maybe something challenging happened at home, like losing a family member or parents separating. Perhaps they’re struggling with something at school, like bullying.
This can make them behave differently, lose confidence in themselves or find it difficult to concentrate in class.
Active Learners is there to help children and young people find ways to cope, so their worries don’t get in the way of their friendships, their learning or how they feel about themselves.
How We Work
Each school with Active Learners on site has a devoted and enthusiastic professional who is in charge of our service there.
Our team work with pupils one-to-one or in small groups, giving consistent support for pupils who need it. This could be due to SEN, misbehaving in school, problems at home which may be affecting them in school, mental challenges, or any other difficulties and challenges pupils may be going through or facing.
Pupils themselves or if a school leader feels like a pupil needs help can also book a short appointment to talk about any problems or worries they have – we call this Here2Help. Every Friday afternoon we also reward the best behaved pupils with free time, where they’ll be able to come to our assigned room and learn computing skills, creative art, and take part in fun activities.
Our Variety of Provision
Active Learners offers a variety of diverse services to meet schools’ needs.

How Do We Work with School Staff?
Active Learners work with teachers and school staff to help them recognise and support emotional wellbeing across the school.
This could include assemblies for pupils about dealing with difficult feelings, or training for staff about responding to bullying.
How We Cooperate With Families?
We always seek agreement from parents or carers prior to supporting a child or young person under 16.
When a child or young person has one-to-one counselling, we communicate with their parents or carers regularly to keep them updated and make sure they are involved from the start.
Some Active Learners schools also have a Parent Counsellor to help families cope with any challenges they might have.
If your child’s school has Active Learners , please feel free to talk to the Active Learners staff member – they’ll be happy to help.
If you are a school and want to find out any further information you can get in contact via or contact page.
